PictureThis residence hall features a beautiful lounge for its 146 women residents. This 3 1/2-story building was completed in 1956. Its name commemorates the college's original ties with Park Region Academy in Fergus Falls, Minn. A complete renovation of the hall started in spring 1996 and is now finished.

 

Information desk: The hall information desk, located in the main lobby, is open from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday-Friday and noon to 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. In addition to providing student phone numbers, the desk staff also makes change and checks out equipment; including cooking utensils and dishes, games, some over-the-counter medical supplies, cleaning supplies, jumper cables, two VCRs and a video library.

 

Rooms: All rooms are two-person rooms. Each room is furnished with beds (75'' x 39''), a built-in wardrobe, dressers, mirror, desks, chairs, bookshelves, drapes and a private telephone.

Lounges: The main lounge contains a fireplace and color TV. The main lounge is accessible 24 hours a day.

Martin Luther King Intercultural Center: This lounge, complete with kitchen facilities, is available for student groups and organizations meeting on campus. Reservations may be made at Campus Information.

Study areas: Study rooms are located on each floor.

Kitchen: A kitchen is located just off the main lounge and is available 24 hours a day. The kitchen is furnished with a range, two microwave ovens, refrigerator, and a small number of baking and cooking utensils for the preparation of snacks, etc. Residents may check out cooking utensils at the main desk with their ID.

Laundry facilities: The laundry is located in the basement. The facility includes automatic commercial washers and dryers.

Utility room: Each floor has a utility room that is furnished with an ironing board, a laundry tub, a pencil sharpener, broom and dust pan.

Building security: For security reasons, the wing doors (where appropriate) are locked no later than midnight each day and the main doors at 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and at 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday. A student worker is on duty after lockup to provide additional security.A Room

Cleaning equipment: Assorted cleaning utensils are located in the utility room on each floor. Vacuum cleaners may be checked out at the desk for a nominal fee.

Storage room: A storage room is located on the lower level of the hall for storage of suitcases and other seldom-used items. Contact a staff member to make arrangements for its use. The college does not assume liability for items stored in storage rooms. Also, items which are unmarked, or unclaimed for two years, will be donated to local charities or otherwise disposed of.
