international
center
The International Center, consisting of three apartment buildings (one French, one German and one Spanish) is reserved for selected juniors and seniors who want to improve their world language skills. Usually language majors, they create a French, German or Spanish environment and make it a point to converse in the target language as much as possible. The three buildings contain four two-bedroom apartments each. Three native teaching assistants, one in each language, also live in the center. The number of apartments assigned to men and to women varies from year to year, depending upon the number of students applying, but the International Center houses up to 40 students. Like Bogstad, the apartments are fully furnished and equipped with kitchens, which means that residents may either prepare their own meals or participate in the colleges board plan. The International Center was remodeled for student use in 1987.
Apartments: Most apartments contain two bedrooms, a bathroom, living and dining rooms, and a kitchen. They are furnished with bunkable beds (80" x 39"), desks or study tables, chairs, living and dining room furniture, curtains, a private telephone, and a stove and refrigerator. Additional refrigeration units must be approved in advance.
Laundry Facilities: Each building has laundry rooms with automatic commercial washing machines and dryers. The laundry machines in the International Center are coin-operated. Students furnish their own irons and ironing boards. Cleaning Equipment: Vacuum cleaners may be checked out from an RA.
Storage Room: The International Center has no additional storage; however, arrangements may be made to store suitcases and other seldom=used items in other halls. Contact a staff member for more information. You may not store empty boxes or other bulky or hazardous material. The college does not assume liability for items stored in storage rooms. Also, items which are unmarked, or unclaimed for two years, will be donated to local charities or otherwise disposed of. |

Concordia's
International Center, Bogstad Manor, Bogstad East, Boe-Olsen,
provide apartment-style living for upper class students. Townhouses provide apartment-style living for junior and seniors. While offering a different social environment than most residence halls,
the college apartments are managed under the same policies and regulations
that govern campus housing. The apartments are staffed by a building
director and resident assistants (RAs). All apartments are fully furnished
and equipped with a kitchen, which means that residents are not required
to participate in the college's board plan.
