Seek Peace and Justice for All!
Concordia Students for Social Justice is a group formed
around the Bible verse Micah 6:8 which reads:
"He has shown you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to
walk humbly with your God."
Mission Statement:
Concordia Students for Social Justice is a campus organization committed to
serving God by working toward greater justice in the world.
Social Justice works to accomplish this by:
-
Educating the Concordia community as well as the greater
community on issues of social, political and economic injustices
-
Addressing these injustices at the local, state, national,
and international levels.
-
Gaining new perspectives by looking at the larger picture
of how and why these problems came to be
-
Advocating against these issues and offering alternatives
that promote greater equality among all peoples
-
Using intentional interaction with others as a catalyst for
change
-
Providing a voice for those who cannot speak due to institutionalized
forms of oppression
-
Taking an active role in politics
-
Celebrating diversity and breaking down barriers between
peoples
-
Doing service work to supplement and enhance education
-
To be a community, which supports and motivates its members
to continue in their vocation.
