What liturgies and music are used in our campus worship?

A variety of genres are used in our worship life at Concordia College. We seek to use the best music and resources in a wide variety of genres which give voice not only to the Concordia community, but also to the whole communion of saints.

The hymnals used in our worship include the Lutheran Book of Worship, the Hymnal Supplement, and With One Voice. We regularly use liturgies found in these sources. We also incorporate elements of liturgies from around the globe.

Our worship includes, on a regular or occasional basis:

The vocal choirs on campus:

  • Concordia Choir
  • Chapel Choir
  • Bel Canto Choir
  • Freshmen Choir
  • Liturgical Choir

The hand bell choirs:

  • Tintinnabula
  • Campana

The college instrumental ensembles:

  • Concert Band
  • Cobber Concert Band
  • Jazz Ensemble
  • Concordia College Orchestra

The contemporary worship bands:

  • Temple Band
  • Borning Cry

Smaller vocal and instrumental ensembles and soloists also offer music in worship.
