Someone close to me has died. Who can I talk with?
You are not alone in your grief. The Campus Pastors invite you to talk with them. You may also become a part of the Grief Group which meets in the spring of each year for about 6 sessions. One of the Campus Pastors and a counselor from the Counseling Center lead the grief group, which includes students who have suffered grief or loss, and who want to talk about their feelings and experiences. Together we learn about grief.
You are also invited to meet individually with one of the pastors. (Please call our office at 299-4161 to set an appointment.) We are here to help you through this difficult time. Isaiah 43:1-3a Thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."
John 14:27 [Jesus said,] "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, do not let them be afraid." You may also wish to refer to Griefnet for further resources. |
