Who we are @ international student services

Angela Seewald-Marquardt is the International Student Adviser.  She can assist and support you with most issues you will encounter, such as cultural adjustment, succeeding academically, and personally.  Angela is the Primary Designated School Official who can access and update your SEVIS record, assist you with applying for OPT, and prepare any requested letters.  She also advises ISO, and sends regular communication to the international student body.

Don Buegel is the Director of International Student Recruiting and Support. He also handles Financial Aid for international students.  He is a Designated School Official who can access and update your SEVIS record.

When appropriate, Angela and Don will refer you to another department on campus that can best address your concern.

 

Here are a few of the departments to which they may refer you:
  • Student Affairs Office-  Here you can get your I-20’s signed each semester, update SEVIS with your change of address or major, and take care of SEVIS release if you transfer out.
  • Career Center- Here you can learn about cooperative education, internships, get your I-20 form updated to reflect CPT, improve your interviewing skills, receive tips on writing a resume and coverletter, and tips on job searches. 
  • Your Academic Adviser or Registrar's Office- Here you can learn about your academic program or major, course selection, adding or dropping classes, and transcript issues.
  • Auxiliary Services- Here you can learn about dining plans and available dining options.
  • Academic Enhancement Center and/or Reading and Writing Center- Here you can improve your study skills and methods, time management, reading and writing skills.
  • Student Affairs Office/Residence Life- Here you can learn about housing options, policies, and procedures.
  • Business Office- Here you can learn when, where and how to pay your bill, how much you owe, and estimate charges for future semesters.
  • Student Affairs Office/Intercultural Affairs- Here you can learn about the intercultural programming offered at Concordia.
