Employment after Graduation

F-1 students may be eligible for employment in the USA after graduation in certain circumstances:

Other possibilities aside from OPT exist. Concordia is not qualified to assist students with these, and we recommend students considering these situations learn what is required, and consider obtaining proper legal advice from immigration attorneys.  Additional paths to employment include:

 

H1B -This is a nonimmigrant classification used by an alien who will be employed temporarily in a specialty occupation or as a fashion model of distinguished merit and ability.  It is an employment based visa, and the employer and employee apply together.  While it is a nonimmigrant visa, employees with this visa type may apply for permanent residence.

 

Generally an attorney is consulted to apply, or at large organizations the HR department may handle this.
